Our Store Manager, Van Washington, has been a part of our family for a total of 19 years, where he has gained invaluable experience and knowledge of our industry, as well as developed close relationships with our contractors and customers. We recently sat down with Van to get to know him a little better. Check out his answers below!

When did you first join the Menzie team? I've worked for Menzie Stone a total of 19 years. I first worked for them from 1997 to 2006, left for a little while, then came back in 2008. Been here ever since!

Can you describe what your typical day looks like? Busy! Mornings particularly can be very fast-paced getting jobs ready and installers loaded up. There is always some fine tuning and expediting to be done.

What makes you a good fit for your position at Menzie? I would have to say my experience. I have worked in this business for many years, so that gives me a lot of knowledge for this position and helps me know what each job needs. I take pride in the relationships I have with our contractors.

Before working at Menzie, what was the most interesting job you've ever had? At Stripling-Blake lumber yard

When you aren't hard at work, where might we find you chasing your passion? Taking a long country ride

What is an item on your bucket list? Calabasas, California. That's where I would like to live someday.

What is one fun fact about you that others wouldn't expect? I like to joke around a little here and there!
