Get to Know Our Sales Manager, Marquis!

Our Sales Manager, Marquis Schaffers, works closely with our sales team, customers, reps and remote stores to ensure our day-to-day operations run smoothly. We recently sat down with Marquis for a little Q&A session. Check out his answers below!
Name: Marquis Schaffers
Hometown: Baton Rouge, LA
Where did you go to school and what did you study? University of Phoenix; I studied computer networking and repair.
When did you first join the Menzie team? I joined Menzie on July 26, 2018.
Can you describe what your typical day looks like? I manage the sales team along with several builder accounts, help customers with their selections and accounts and monitor our inventory of quartz and natural stone. My day involves processing sales orders, working closely with the sales team on their customer accounts, meeting with reps on their material pricing and new promotions and monitoring new sales leads that come in via email. I also work alongside our remote stores in helping them to process their countertop orders.
What makes you a good fit for your position at Menzie? I'm a fast learner, and I’m very patient and considerate when dealing with the public and my workmates. I also adjust very well to change and the needs of the business.
Before working at Menzie, what was the most interesting job you've ever had? I owned a transportation company where I was able to work closely with the various charter schools in the Baton Rouge area.
When you aren't hard at work, where might we find you chasing your passion? I really love music and traveling, so you may find me on the beach playing the violin for my wife.
What is an item on your bucket list? To spend a week in Paris with my family.
Do you participate in any community involvement? I engage in volunteer ministry work on Saturday mornings.
What is one fun fact about you that others wouldn't expect? I can play musical instruments like the violin and cello.
