Honed Finish
The honed finish, often referred to as a "matte" finish, is a smooth finish that creates a duller look; this softens the overall feel of the space. Unlike a polished finish, the honed finish does not give off a glossy or shiny gleam. Rather, this finish absorbs and redistributes natural light evenly throughout your space.
Leathered Finish
The leathered finish, also known as the "brush" finish, is a newer type of finish that has become more common in recent years. To create this finish, our experts begin with a honed finish and run diamond-tipped brushes over the surface to create a subtle, dimpled texture. This technique results in a slightly more sophisticated look and retains the natural color of the stone more effectively than the matte honed finish.
Polished Finish
The polished finish looks just how it sounds. The stone is buffed and polished to the point that the surface becomes extremely shiny and mirror-like. This is the most common finish for most types of stone as it is easy to clean and resists stains as the polishing process seals the stone, making it less porous.
